Jacob Hamblin Park Closed until May 1, 2005 Renovations are being made at the Jacob Hamblin Park located at 531 North 100 East. These renovations will include replacing the sprinkler system and putting down new sod. We will also be adding new playground equipment and some other new features. All renovations are being done with a generous grant from the Gardner Foundation. The Kanab City Council meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Kane County Commission Chambers, 76 North Main, Kanab, Utah. Anyone wanting to request time on the Council agenda should contact the city offices for more information. Kanab City has twenty five full-time employees who work in eleven different departments. During the height of the summer tourist season, the city will hire an additional twenty part-time employees. In addition to these city employees, there are numerous volunteers who serve on 12 different advisory boards or committees. The City operates on a fiscal year from July 1 through June 30. The various departments are funded through three different budgets, the General Fund (includes capital projects and debt service), Water and Sewer Enterprise Fund and Electric Utility Enterprise Fund. The combined Kanab City budget for 1998/99 is in excess of seven million dollars. Kanab City owns and operates its own water, sewer and electric utility systems. Persons wishing to obtain utility services should contact the city offices during normal business hours for information on utility deposits and connection fees.
