During construction of Tropic Reservoir in 1891, the first settlers said the climate felt tropical compared to Panguitch.

MOST FAMOUS FOR: Being the closest town to Bryce Canyon National Park; Tropic is the gateway to the east end of the park and is located on Scenic Byway 12; 4th and 24th of July celebrations and the annual Harves Festival held the last weekend of September.
