A visit to Lake Powell will give lasting impressions on your kids!
Children between the ages of 6 & 12 can become official Junior Rangers. Check out the activity pamphlets at Wahweap and Bullfrog for more information.
Lake Powell's sun is blistering hot. Be sure that you kids are wearing sunscreen.
From June 1 through August 31, there is a Kids' Carp and Catfish Contest open to kids under 14. Cash prizes are given monthly at each marina for the heaviest carp and catfish weighed in at the marina store.
Lake Powell provides families with all sorts of water play. Boating and houseboating, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, boat tours, raft tours, and renting waterskis are all things you can do with the kids.
In November at Bullfrog, decorated boats brighten the bay at night. At Wahweap in December, the Canyon King paddlewheeler leads the water light parade from the Wahweap Lodge and Marina to Glen Canyon Dam and back.
Kids are fascinated by Native American life. Ask our rangers about some of the well-preserved ruins and rock art left behind from the Anasazi that once lived here hundreds of years ago. Defiance House in Forgotten Canyon is a great place for dwellings and artifacts.
